Food Production Safety & Compliance Supervisor

The Food production /safety & compliance Supervisor is responsible for the core areas of the manufacturing operation: Safety & Compliance, Product Quality, customer satisfaction. A minimum of 3 years experience with food production management in a HACCP food processing environment.

Major functions

  • Hands-on recipe testing, costing, batch production and HACCP oversight.
  • Execution of daily production, ensuring compliance, safety and quality assurance objectives are consistently met with excellence and care.
  • Maintenance and management of all data and records, as well as confidentiality of recipes
  • Leadership in continuously improving product quality, customer loyalty, employee and financial performance of the company.
  • Effectively manage and develop a diverse team of team members

GENERAL SCOPE OF POSITION:
OPERATIONS
Safety

  • Managing the HACCP manufacturing program: traceability of ingredients, rotation, product testing, documentation , working with and keep in compliance with FDA and GDA regulations and authorities.
  • Ongoing implementation, management and training staff on best safety and good manufacturing practices.

Sourcing

  • Working with local and regional farmers and distributors for best ingredient sourcing
  • Procurement and ordering of all manufacturing and retail raw materials

Sustainability projects and implementation/ongoing management

  • Implementing programs internally that tie to sustainable production: recycling, composting, all natural cleaning products, etc.
  • Developing farmer direct local and regional sourcing opportunities

Manufacturing

  • Schedule kitchen and labeling production to meet all Sales and inventory needs in a timely manner
  • Procurement of all raw materials including vendor development and management, costing, purchase orders and timely, complete and accurate delivery of goods
  • Maintain and create opportunities for Cost of materials and labor budget improvements
  • Assist with needs of retail web orders, prepared foods, catering programs, meal kit programs as developed. Oversee labor and cost budgets, as well as timely and satisfactory execution of food preparation.

Inventory

  • Develops, recommends, implements and oversees processes for optimization of Inventory Management.
  • Manages inventory location system.
  • Analyzes inventory levels, including receipts and disbursements. Coordinates specifications, and evaluations relating to warehouse stock materials / equipment.
  • Coordinates the disposal of all defective / surplus / obsolete items.
  • Participates, leads, and directs special projects related to inventory management.
  • Responsible for ensuring First In / First Out, accurate accounting of inventory balances, the accurate taking of Physical Inventory as required.
  • Vendor Relationships : Develops and maintains relationships with vendors to work through quality issues and negotiations of costs.

Required education:

  • Associate

Required experience:

  • HACCP food processing.: 3 years

Required license or certification:

  • Better Process Control Certification- acidified foods
