Our experienced staff includes both technical and regulatory consultants who are experienced in dealing with foods, food ingredients, and nutrition and with pesticide and non-pesticide products including conventional chemicals, biochemicals, microbials, antimicrobials, consumer products, and products of biotechnology.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced regulatory-oriented
Food Scientist with industry experience for a Managing Scientist or Senior Managing Scientist position in our Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and skills related to (1) ingredients and processing, (2) pre-market research and development and commercialization functions, and (3) regulatory approvals and ensuring compliance requirements associated with food, beverages, and nutritional products. The ideal candidate will have extensive and practical experience with pre- and post-market technical functions and regulatory compliance and approval procedures.  The candidate will be able to work independently and as a team member for complex technical and regulatory projects related to food safety and nutrition. Additional responsibilities will include providing technical peer review as appropriate, developing clients and assisting in business development and marketing activities. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth.  Candidate must be a motivated self-starter with demonstrated leadership ability.

Qualifications for this position include:

    Bachelorís degree with a concentration in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related sciences; Masters or Ph.D. preferred

    5-15 years relevant experience, depending on position level

    Extensive knowledge of food industry and regulatory practices

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

    Ability to manage multiple assignments under rigid time constraints

    Ability to manage client projects independently

    Ability to manage and participate effectively in team projects is essential
