DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

This position will be responsible for the leading and project management of initiatives within TCR Sensory Quality Programs, worldwide.  Specifically, the Scientist IV will lead and coordinate key requirement document reviews/edits, build education programs to enhance system capability in sensory quality, hands-on execution of sensory training for R&D and the Technical Community and provide additional support for any additional TCR Quality Sensory related Programs, as required.

 


CRITICAL SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Must be a proficient project manager capable of building results driven timeline and independently executing with excellence for multiple priorities and projects, simultaneously.
  • Must be an effective influence manager capable of leading collaborative projects in the creation of sensory governance documentation and tools sustainable for the System.
  • Must have excellent communication skills including ability to write concise, informative reports and verbally present sensory information to technical and non-technical audiences including manufacturing personnel, tailoring communication appropriately.  Ability to listen and identify project objective and influence research plan. 
  • Must be a critical thinker, discontent with the status quo, and able to independently problem-solve to bring win-win solutions to the table.
  • Demonstrates solid working knowledge and execution of sensory   methods, both discriminative and descriptive methods.  Must be able to identify the most appropriate method that will meet business objectives,  create research proposal, assist in the implementation of sensory tests, if required, interpret data output and report findings and next steps.
  • Demonstrates solid working knowledge in technical risk assessment used to identify, evaluate and mitigate project risks with a working knowledge of statistics including franchise and opportunity risk profiles.
  • Demonstrates solid working knowledge in sensory laboratory best practices.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge in fundamental food science; quality assurance, product development or manufacturing experience desired.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge in the use of experimental designs, data management, and research-on-research applications.Demonstrates general understanding of the importance and basic principles of data and intellectual property management.
  • Must be flexible with high level of attention to detail.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or equivalent. Focus on sensory, a plus. Advance degree preferred. 

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 5 years of work experience with BS degree.
