This person will assist the R&D department in every aspect related to the development of new products and for process enhancements. Work closely with other departments for the development of new products and the shipping of samples.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and ensure compliance to quality system and cGMP programs.

         Manage and direct development of drink mix formulas with excellent nutritional characteristics, flavor and mouth-feel. Assist with scale-up of such products to routine commercial production.

         Work with suppliers to develop formulas for to maintain excellent product quality over time.

         Manage the companyís Genesis database of food formulas.

         Ensure that product formulas are accurately characterized on food and supplement labels.

         Maintain current line of food products with formula upgrades and cost reducing measures.

         Manage documentation of new formulas and raw materials.

         Work with the broader R&D team in researching and developing new product concepts.

         Assist with the duties and efforts of the R&D Assistants.

         Assist with sample preparation, and mailing/shipping of samples.

         Become proficient in the use of all lab related equipment.

         Assist in product cuttings and sensory evaluations.

         Assist with the setup, operation and cleaning of all test equipment.

         Run errands for R&D to secure supplies, equipment or ingredients for projects.

         Convert verbal and written requests into completed projects with the necessary formulations and process procedures necessary to meet the expectations of the projectís originator.

 

Perform various miscellaneous and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in nature and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition or related science discipline.
  • 2-5 years of Food and/or Supplement Industry Required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Strong sensory science skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Must have great organization skills.
