As a Food
Safety & Quality Assurance Scientist, the primary responsibilities are as
Support Food Safety &
Quality Assurance needs of Target food business for commercialization of
new products, continuous product improvement, and managing food safety
and quality incidents.
approval and on-going performance monitoring of foods vendor facilities,
including food safety program reviews through desk audit, on-site
assessments and other necessary activities.
accuracy and completeness of compliance documentation in all appropriate
up and resolution process for consumer complaints as well as other
product quality issues.
technical programs and apply food safety and quality assurance knowledge
specific product categories in development of products specifications.
Assess/communicate food safety,
quality assurance and/or regulatory guidance to organization.
Ability to independently lead
and manage key strategic initiatives/ projects.
Provide back-up support to the
Food Safety and Recall team when needed.
Ability to travel up to 35%
B.S. in Food Science, Food
Microbiology, or related discipline.
4-8+ years of experience in
Food Safety and Quality Assurance with a strong focus in perishables and
Strong working knowledge of
food safety and quality assurance principles, programs and practices
Working knowledge of GFSI
standards and certification.
Knowledge of FDA and USDA
Ability to work effectively in
a cross-functional team environment.
Capability to manage time and
resources to execute projects and achieve goals.
