The candidate for the position of food technologist will apply scientific and culinary principles for the research, development and commercialization for a RTE fresh food manufacturer. The candidate will be a member of and responsible for collaborating with the Product Development team in the formulation of recipes, manufacturing processes and the creation and maintenance of related documentation.



• Engage in all phases of product development – from recipe creation/ideation to commercial launch

• Research and employ methods and “natural” functional ingredients to maintain the safety, shelf life,stability and overall quality of products

• Work with Quality Assurance and Operations to establish SOPs for quality control, food safety, regulatory and testing requirements for process controls of trials, new and existing products including written product specifications and product evaluations

• Modify and improve existing product formulations as required

• Identify and specify products/ingredients from suppliers

• Test and Examine production samples

• Manage shelf life and nutritional samples sent to lab





• 3+ years experience in food production, product development for manufacturing and/or food service environment

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related technical degree

• Culinary Degree or Certification a plus

• Knowledge of the current regulatory requirements - USDA, FDA

• Ability to stay current with food industry trends especially related to product development, functional ingredients and regulatory requirements

• Meticulous attention to detail including strong analytical, writing, math and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of larger team

• Knowledge of Nutritional and Labeling Software

• Moderate to advanced skills in Excel
