Position Description:

North Ogden-area manufacturing of nutritional power blends is seeking a Director of Product Development.
The Director, Product Development is responsible for the day to day management of the Product Development department including managing Product Development Team Members and being the primary formulator and technical support for all existing US customers and new US prospects & customers as required.
•           Manage and provide continuous training and development to department
team members, conduct performance appraisals and participate in management
meetings.
•           Meet with existing US customers and new US prospects/customers as required regarding formulation and technical issues.
•           Maintain up to date knowledge of current and future market trends, status of sales, new products and competitors.
•           Formulate new products according to customers’ requirements and market insights.
•           Enter formulations into enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
•           Maintain up to date knowledge of current and emerging raw materials for their health benefits, safety, and efficacy and to evaluate their potential usage in new formulations and formulation revisions.

 

Qualifications
• University degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or other appropriate discipline or
Food Technology Certification and a minimum of five years industry experience.
•           Excellent leadership skills, ability to multitask, and Manage by Objectives (MBO).
• Excellent communication, planning, organization, mathematical and budgeting
skills.
•           Strong understanding of blending processes.
•           Strong knowledge of Dietary Supplement regulations.
•           Self motivated and able to work under pressure and time sensitive conditions.
•           Demonstrated proficiency with manufacturing resource planning software, Excel, and Word.
•           Exhibits extreme accuracy and precision in a lab environment.
•           Adeptness in sensory skills (taste, odor and visual).
•           Knowledge of manufacturing dry dosage forms (including tableting, coating, encapsulating, and powder filling) and packaging is highly desirable.
•           Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Analytical Test Methods in a production environment is an asset.
