The Safety Quality Food specialist is responsible for ensuring food safety compliance and operational systems monitoring. The company is certified by SQF2 and is governed by FDA rules.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and monitor the operational compliance to the Food Safety Plan as dictated by the Safe Quality Food certification, and all food safety & quality policies and procedures.
  • Inspect production activities to ensure that they meet internal Food Safety & Quality Program which includes the proper documentation of CCP checks and product quality inspection, employee adherence to GMPs.
  • Perform internal audits and inspections on processing activity, preventative maintenance, sanitation, pest control and waste management.
  • Verify and validate prerequisite programs in accordance with HACCP.
  • Assist in education/training of staff in quality systems and food safety programs.
  • This position will understand and follow HACCP standards while monitoring manufacturing practices in regards to HACCP.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be deemed necessary by manager.
  • Manage the product and operations Safety Quality Food Plan as directed by Senior Management.
  • Understands and upholds the programs and policies within the SQF2 Plan.

The Right Applicant

  • A minimum of HS degree and 2 years of college .
  • Some experience in food processing or with regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices which support safe work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Possess communication, organization, problem-solving and time management skills as effectively interact with colleagues.
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
