Basic Purpose-The primary responsibilities are to support FSQA managers by: (1) assisting in the monitoring and tracking, of suppliers (2) setting up and executing product quality evaluations (3) assisting in specification projects and label approvals (4) assisting in the management of documents and facility compliance monitoring.

Description

-

Set-up and execute product quality evaluations, this includes; physical set-up of product evaluation, measurement of product attributes, evaluation of sensory attributes, data collection and data reporting.

 

Support the ongoing compliance process through the verification of labels, third party audit reports and escalating compliance issues to relevant parties.

 

Act as the administrator for the FSQA on-line complaint system.  This includes setting up new users, ensuring supplier contact information is accurate and troubleshooting.

 

Ensure the correct suppliers are active in our USF data management system and have the appropriate compliance requirements.

 

Provide support to customers by supplying approved information and/or documents as requested.

 

Provide support in the distribution of communications to customers, suppliers, and USF facilities in the areas of food safety and QA project initiatives.  

 

Maintain accurate and up to date product lists for the product categories supported.

 

Manage the division product evaluation program, which includes including collection of data from divisions and establishment of supplier monitoring system. 

 

Support the corporate recall function as needed during corporate recalls.

 

Determine compliance and verify accuracy of vendor documents in the data management system and assist with the quarterly FSQA Scorecard.

 

Provide support as requested and required for other USF FSQA projects, programs, and initiatives under the direction of the FSQA Manager.

Qualifications

-

Education/Training:  Bachelor's degree biological science, Food Science or similar field required.

 

Related Experience: Minimum two years of in-plant experience.  Project management experience preferred. 

 

Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job:  Working knowledge of HACCP, SOPs, GMPs and Product Specifications. The candidate must possess strong written, verbal, and time management skills. Must have a positive attitude and exhibit honest & ethical behavior.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
