Senior Manager International Food Safety Compliance

Position Description
Supports international markets in responding to urgent food safety and health issues by researching regulatory issues, requests, and inquiries;
identifying and assessing new and emerging issues; evaluating industry related outbreaks and recalls and the potential impact on Walmart business;
advising on and assisting with food or drug and supplement recalls and withdrawals; developing responses to media inquiries; and investigating
alleged illnesses, outbreaks, allergic reactions, foreign objects, tampering, and adverse events.

Assists in development and implementation of strategic plan objectives by developing new, enhanced processes and procedures to manage risk;
conducting analysis of new regulations and implementing plans to ensure compliance; creating new metrics, trend reports, and tracking tools; creating
new training tools; tracking and evaluating market objectives and progress; collaborating with stakeholders regarding new and enhanced processes;
and developing new risk management approaches for enhanced compliance.

Executes projects for reducing risk by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities;
providing insights and resources; working with market stakeholders to improve performance; identifying performance standards; measuring progress
and adjusting performance accordingly; demonstrating adaptability; supporting continuous learning; and establishing relationships with industry
councils and agencies.

Serves as a subject matter expert for food safety enhancements by researching industry trends and evaluating the impact they have on the food
safety business; reviewing data from food and health safety audits and regulatory inspection reports; developing process, standards, and policies to
ensure the organization is meeting regulatory and Walmart corporate expectations; reviewing and approving market level compliance action plans;
reviewing and interpreting food safety test results; developing metrics, reports, and tracking tools; communicating food safety and health issues to
stakeholders; and consulting with buyers, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders on food safety protocol.

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business
plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring
progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to
others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business
partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness;
and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Public Health, or related field and 4 years experience in food safety or quality assurance,
including auditing food establishments/facilities, or related field.
• 5 years experience with retail or food service safety.
