This position is responsible for assisting the QA Manager in coordinating the regulatory food safety and quality compliance activities, therefore SQF certification under the most current version of SQF code. This includes monitoring QC Technician and QA Lead, communicating quality related issues to operations management and reporting issues to the QA management.
The QA Supervisor must be familiar with the following programs: HACCP, GMP and all Pre-requisite Programs as well as all applicable certifications such as but not limited to Non-GMO Project, National Organic Program and Kosher Certification Program.

This position is for the second shift 11am to 7pm

  • Responsibilities (include but not limited to the following testing and data review and collection)
  • - Coordinating implementation and maintenance of QA Program.
  • - Supervising daily QC Technician and QA Lead Activities.
  • - Indentifying quality and food safety issues & verifying they have been corrected.
  • - Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance to all Federal, State, County, City Regulations, Customer Requirements, SQF code and Pulmuone Food Standards.
  • - Conducting end product quality analysis.
  • - Maintaining an accurate set of documents.
  • - Conducting Hold and Release of products.
  • - Review HACCP Critical Control Point (CCPs) monitoring records.
  • - Indentifying quality and food safety issues & verifying they have been corrected.
  • - Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies and effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes.
  • - Assist in conducting GMP, food safety and quality training.
  • - Participating in 3rd Party and Customer Audits.
  • - Coordinate investigation on all NCR issued and Customer and Consumer Complaints and ensure they are followed through.
  • - Be a QA lead backup during their absence in all their responsibilities.
  • Pre-requisite requirements
  • - Bachelor’s degree Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or other related fields or 3-5 years combined experience with food or ingredients and manufacturing experience.
  • - Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Products (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • - English is required, English/Spanish bilingual is preferred
  • - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • - Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and regulatory documents.
  • - Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior managers.
  • - Self driven, results oriented, able to work independently and under deadlines.
  • - Ability to work with confidential materials.
  • - Detail oriented, excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
  • - Familiarity and understanding of Critical Control Points(CCP’s), SOP’s and Quality Standards
  • - Familiarity with ingredients, processes and finished product disposition.
  • - Understand and follow all GMP’s.
