Quality Assurance Manager - Bar Harbor Seafood Orlando, FL




The QA Manager will assist the Director of Quality Control to assure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements and also assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) policies, adherence to SQF standards; validating processes; providing documentation. This position is responsible for maintaining our SQF and HACCP programs as well as for conducting audits and ensure all paperwork is in order from various departments.

    Enhance the workforce knowledge base of quality systems, objectives and expectations through training and coaching of employees; communication of food safety expectations
    Monitors standard work performance and enforcement of food safety policies and procedures.
    Responsible for Vendor Verification of all fresh / frozen suppliers Certification, making sure all suppliers are current with the required food safety documentation and maintain a current database for all suppliers.
    Maintain oversight of the Sanitation crew. Assist in training and cleaning procedures, ATP swabbing, and micro-samples.
    Have Seafood HACCP / and SQF or BRC experience or the ability to obtain the Certification.
    Develops quality assurance action plans by conducting a risk assessment of the operation for potential critical failure points, hazard analysis, and food safety risks (HACCP).
    Validates effectiveness of quality processes by assuring product compliance to specifications, monitoring control charts for trends and/or out of control conditions, analyze statistical data summaries for indications of compliance issues, validate gauging and measurement systems
    Actively engaged in the efforts surrounding new / existing product qualifications to meet internal expectations
    Assure maintenance of plant housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to all internal and customer standards. Act as plant Product Safety team leader to assure compliance to food safety standards (SQF, BRC) along with relevant training.
    Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.

Job Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Food Science.  Have Seafood HACCP / and SQF or BRC experience or the ability to obtain the Certification.
    Multi-functional team leadership and project management
    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Ability to drive process improvement
    Willingness to seek professional growth and development as the scope of the position increases
    Demonstrated integrity, maturity, professionalism, and sensitivity
    Experience with seafood or food preferred, but not required.
