Quality Assurance Opportunities - USA



- B.Sc. in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Business or other related science based discipline.
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Food Microbiology, and Sanitation
- Skills in leadership, strategic thought leader, role model leader, analytical decision making, and effecting change.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation communications.
- Demonstrate continuous learning in competencies related to Quality Assurance and Food Safety
- Preferred competencies include:
o Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Manager by ASQ
o Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, or Design for Six Sigma
o Implementation of GFSI audit scheme
o Experience in managing in a USDA regulated manufacturing plant

- Must demonstrate strong knowledge of the following core competencies:
o Quality Management Systems
o Food Safety Risk Management
o Sanitation and Environmental Monitoring
o Training
o Internal Auditing
o Statistical Process Control and Data Analysis
o Technical problem solving (root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action development)
- Must demonstrate moderate knowledge of the following:
o Managing raw material suppliers and incoming materials
o Allergen Management
o Food regulations
o Customer centricity
o The applicable processing method at the factory; e.g.: LACF, Acidified, High Acid, Frozen/ Chilled,
Aseptic, and/or Pasteurization
o GFSI audit scheme implementation
o Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Must demonstrate basic knowledge of the following:
o Scientific techniques for investigating complaints
o Microbiological and Analytical Methods
o Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification of new products / processes

- Inductive reasoning: The ability to combine pieces of information to form conclusions (includes a relationship
among seemingly unrelated events).
- Pro-Active Problem Solving Approach: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Deductive reasoning: The Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers.
- Multi-Task: Should be able to balance multiple projects at one time and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Ability to train salaried and hourly employees.
- Ability to Lead Teams and Team activities to achieve business results.
- Advanced computer and presentation skills: Must be able to make oral and visual presentations to small and large groups that effectively communicate to the intended audience.

- Experience in Quality Assurance, Food Manufacturing, or other technical environment.
- Supervisory and/or Managerial experience.
- Demonstrate ability to work with cross-functional groups.
- Demonstrate ability to supervise and train others effectively.
