Local snack food manufacturer is seeking a food safety position. Join our team!

Job Description

  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring plant products are safe and meet customer specifications and company quality and reliability standards. Recommends improvement in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management.
  • Lead food safety standards and enforce procedures in the plant and production floors
  • GMP’s training, monitoring and documentation
  • Personal Hygiene monitoring and documentation
  • Foreign object inspection and documentation
  • Supervises staff responsible for allergen and other quality testing of plant production.
  • Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.
  • Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and food safety improvements.
  • Ensures that all quality-related information required for regulatory reviews and reporting is maintained by the plant.
  • Participates in weekly GMP, sanitation and safety inspections throughout the production departments and corrects or issues work orders to correct, any identified deficiencies. Follows up on work orders, with the appropriate Associates to ensure the work has been conducted.
  • Ensures that company “Hold” policies and procedures are understood and followed by the plant staff.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all products manufactured as well as raw materials, packaging, and operations required to manufacture products including quality and food safety specifications and standards.

Required Experience:

  • Food Safety, QA: 2 years
  • Working knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HAACP, food allergens, OSHA standards, product quality control
  • Demonstrate the ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well a plan, monitor, and schedule work
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
