Performs quality testing, research and development of new and/or existing products. Modification of standard products, regulatory supervision of products and data analysis generally in the food, beverage, flavors, and chemical industries.
Familiar with regulations such as GMP and HAACP.
May develop or modify internal SOPs.
Under the direction and supervision of the Enhancers and Snack Nuts Consumer Science Section Manager, the candidate is responsible for the day- to-day sensory and consumer project management as well as sensory panel leadership activities for specified Enhancers categories.
Plans and conducts independent projects, participates in development of project objectives, executes against same, and recommends action plans to implement key findings
Leads Sensory Panel; plans and conducts training to develop and maintain panel and provide sensory evaluation project support
Has broad understanding of analytical work
Begins to address increasing levels of complexity; capable of collecting information from different sources
Consults with clients
Develops basic understanding of Food and Beverage business

Qualifications
BS in Scientific field of study with 2-3 years of work experience in sensory evaluation or consumer science or MS degree in Food Science/Sensory Science
Proficiency in the English language (both verbal and written)
Competency with Windows based software (Microsoft Office)
Fundamental understanding of statistics
Familiar with analyzing, interpreting, and reporting discrimination, consumer, and sensory descriptive and discrimination data in a business relevant manner
Strong knowledge of discrimination, consumer, and sensory methodologies as well as experience/exposure to panel moderation
Strong interpersonal and team skills (organization, prioritization, communication, and flexibility)
Strong problem solving and attention to detail skills
Able to multi task, work alone and in a team
Experience with Compusense a plus
Sensory/Consumer internship experience in a food related industry a plus
