Production Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

 Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza, salad dressing, and BBQ sauce product categories. We have four manufacturing facilities located in OH, IL, IA, and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.

This position is based out of our Beaver Dam, WI location.

Job Duties of the Production Supervisor

  • Supervise daily production team
  • Responsible for planning appropriate inventory levels to ensure production requirements and specifications are met to meet customer orders.
  • Ensure proper training of all employees regarding GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures
  • Experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products.
  • Responsible for collecting production data and identifying variances compared to standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining company Safety and OSHA standards.
  • Handles employee concerns and issues
  • Manage employee time and attendance in HR system and updates hours appropriately.
  • Promote Safety standards and record and investigate all safety incidents and near misses to help reduce future accidents.
  • Updates and communicates labor needs regularly
  • Provides and receives feedback to develop employees and future leaders.

Basic Qualifications required of the Production Supervisor

  • Minimum 4 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish beneficial

Competencies required of the Production Supervisor

  • Must have experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Must have experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing.
  • Must have experience managing employees in a food production environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills

Work Environment
In performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment is cold (30 to 35 degree) on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the factory

Physical Demands of the Production Supervisor
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
