Quality Control Technician - Food Manufacturing

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for verifying proper operating and good manufacturing procedures are being followed to ensure only quality, safe products are produced and shipped to Waymouth Farms' customers.

This position is on our 1st shift. Hours will be 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct work in process verification (mixing checks, formulation compliance, product quality, moisture testing, salt testing, FFA testing)
  • Conduct production line audits every hour. Identify quality issues occuring in production and packaging, propose corrective action and follow up to assure situation is remedied.
  • Conduct inspections for clean equipment
  • Conduct post-production verification of documentation (control points and critical control points)
  • Data entry and verification of in-process packaging quality checks
  • Execute Test & Hold policy
  • Collect and prepare samples for microbiological analysis
  • Record and manage non-conforming product through non-conformance procedure
  • Manage retention sample program
  • Assist with metal detection corrective action
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Keep accurate and legible documentation
  • Take the initiative to implement new projects
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Take initiative and make decisions in regards to product safety
  • Maintain good understanding of organic requirements

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in science related field
  • Two or more years of QA experience in Food Manufacturing environment is REQUIRED
  • GMP experience is required
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Good math aptitude
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize work
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet Company's needs
  • Must have a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Must be able to stand 8-10 hours, move around facility, and lift up to 50 pounds

Required experience:

  • Quality Control Technician in a food manufacturing environment: 1 year
