Product Developer-(Relocation Assistance Available) - Orlando, FL




Position Purpose:
The Product Developer executes innovation projects within our fresh healthy foods portfolio from planning to report with minimal supervision. This individual contributes to development experiments by researching raw to table solutions, assisting with commercialization, and coordinating with external and internal cross-functional technical teams to deliver new product launches.
Principal Accountabilities:

         Support product development opportunities based on consumer trends and customer needs.

         Work closely with Innovation team to develop and deliver new concepts, prototypes and production across all categories

         Actively management line plans and product development calendar, with alignment to organizational priorities and consideration of cross-functional inputs

         Category reporting and merchandising support

         Daily communication with vendors/suppliers to ensure prototypes, samples and production goods are developed and delivered as planned

         Negotiate costing with vendors/suppliers to achieve margin targets with high quality execution

         Create and manage all functional elements in Product Development process, including but not limited to: Packaging Spec Sheets, and Build Of Materials (B.O.M.), Revisions and comments, approvals and limit samples

         Maintain database of relevant testing and compliance requirements for all product lines

         Execute experiments and plant trials to deliver solutions.

         Report results and recommend solutions for peer and management review; support scale up and implement solutions onsite.

         Conduct perishability study with minimal supervision; collect and analyze data and issue reports.

         Assist senior food scientists on delegated tasks as well as any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

         Bachelorís Degree in Food Science, or other related discipline.

         Minimum 3 years of Product Development experience.

         Proven record of product development.

         Proven ability to execute projects from planning to report with minimal supervision.

         Strong knowledge of Food Safety.

         Effective interpersonal and team working skills.

         Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

         Microsoft Office Suite experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

         Masterís Degree in Food Science, or other related discipline.

         Minimum 3 years Research and Development Food Industry experience.

         Minimum 2 years in perishable foods product development.

         Food Service experience.

         Project management.

         Statistical design and analysis.

         Innovative, independent thinker, and problem solving using multiple discipline.

         Demonstrated skills to communicate complex technology concepts with business and management teams.
