Cargill Beef is looking for a Food Safety Supervisor at our processing facility located in Fresno, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for primarily managing all laboratory operations including: general and pathogen micro programs, chemistry, shelf-life, annual plant intervention verifications, and pre-operational sanitation program. The incumbent will also support the food safety plan and plant intervention matrix that includes all operating parameters, calibrations, procedures, and maintaining monitoring supplies. The incumbent will conduct special projects, budget management, and ensure personal and laboratory safety. Direct responsibilities also include laboratory housekeeping, lab equipment operation and maintaining preventative maintenance programs. This individual will be reporting to the Food Safety Superintendent.
Principle Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
∑ 30% Ensuring timely completion of all analysis and results reporting.
∑ 30% Responsible for innovation and continuous improvements in the following: Good Laboratory Practices (Global quality and safety programs, revisions to procedures), GHP, SSOP, HACCP
∑ 20% Ensuring compliance to analytical test procedures (ATP's).
∑ 10% Ensuring Technician competence through training programs and proficiency testing.
∑ 10% Special plant projects.
∑ B.S. in Science discipline preferred
∑ 2 years supervisory experience preferred, laboratory experience strongly preferred
∑ Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Applications
∑ Microbiological and Chemical analysis
∑ Strong customer service focus with both internal and external customers and vendors
∑ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
∑ Ability to manage, lead, motivate and evaluate people
∑ Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills
