The Food Technologist position is an entry level
Research and Development position supporting Product Development and
R&D functions throughout the business. Responsibilities include bench
level product development, conducting shelf life and sensory evaluations,
assisting in plant trials, and other product development tasks. The
position will also work with Quality to create and maintain product
specifications and documentation as needed. Attention to detail, excellent
verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities
are required. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform bench level product
development work on new and existing products directed by the R&D
Manager and independently.
- Plan, organize, and execute
sensory evaluation testing of new and existing products, shelf life,
second sourcing, and consumer use tests.
- Document observed results,
analyze data, draw conclusions and make recommendations during product
- Support all technical
development activities to scale up for commercialization, product
launch, and post launch monitoring.
- Supports Customer Care,
Customer Service, Marketing and Shipping by providing product
technical information as requested.
- Update and maintain product
formulation, ingredient specification, organic certification, and

Required Competencies & Knowledge:
- Yogi seeks to hire a
candidate with 1-4 years’ experience in the food industry.
- A bachelor’s degree in Food
Science or Technology is required.
- An understanding of organic
regulations is preferred.
- The ideal candidate should
have good laboratory experience and be familiar with GMP’s.
- Candidate should also have
strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize and plan work
- Strong math, computer, basic
scientific, statistical and analytical skills are required.
- Must be very detailed
oriented in observations and documentation.

Proficiency in: MS Office Suite
