Food Safety positions supporting food and beverage and merchandise locations serve as technical resources and are responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of key food safety programs. Exceptional candidates will have a proven track record of independently driving above average incident and illness reduction results achieved through the development and implementation of targeted food safety strategies and tactics.

Responsibilities

This role is required to use sound technical judgment to assess, analyze, identify and solve a broad spectrum of food safety issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts operations. Operations include manufacturing, production, warehouse, food and beverage, lodging, and conventions. The role will be required to drive results by guiding implementation of food safety programs, perform HACCP assessments, analyze illness trend data, evaluate food safety performance, and identify opportunities to continuously improve food safety performance. Must be knowledgeable of applicable food safety standards and, when necessary, be able to resolve complex issues outside of established regulations. Required to develop strong relationships and work as part of a team within a fast paced, matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced food safety experience
  • 7 + years of food safety experience required
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics and identify trends
  • Proven project management experience
  • Self driven and resourceful with the ability to solve problems outside area of expertise
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to operate within an ambiguous and changing environment
  • Proven strong planning, organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations
  • Demonstrated strong consultative and influencing skills
  • Proven experience in training delivery

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual language skills

 

Preferred Education

  • 4 year degree in Food Safety, Public Health, or Environmental Health
  • Advanced degree in Food Safety, Environmental Health, or Public Health
  • CFSP, REHS preferred

 

Required Education

  • 4 year applicable college degree
