Position: Full-time Research Associate I

Pay Grade 39

Location: Department of Food Science and Technology, 2510 River Drive, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN 37996-4539

Responsibilities: Manages daily operations of the UT Sensory Science and Innovation Center including procurement of supplies and management of student workers. Coordinates scheduling and use of center for industry support, departmental and institute research projects, teaching, and outreach activities. Provides support for departmental and institutional projects requiring sensory evaluation. Conducts all aspects of work on sensory evaluation projects with industry sponsors, including: development of questionnaires, programming of computer for data collection, sample preparation, panel execution, performs data analyses and creates reports for project sponsors. Maintains pool of panelists. Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum qualifications: M.S. degree in Food Science with emphasis on Sensory Science and evaluation methods. Working knowledge of basic statistical methods, SAS, FIZZ and statistical tools of EXCEL.
