Quality Control Manager

JOB SUMMARY: 
Weíre looking for a Quality Control Manager to help shepherd and build continuous improvement for our facilities food safety and product quality programs. This position will require someone who has excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency and leadership when it comes to responding to risk involving food. This position will focus on 3 core functions: product quality, product consistency, and food safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently plans, manages and completes research projects to design, develop and improve new and existing product portfolio.
  • Scale recipes for mass manufacturing while preserving taste and quality
  • Help enforce HACCP and GMPís throughout the facility.
  • Perform routine facility walkthroughs and communicate findings with Food Safety Consultant
  • Own the safety of the team, ensuring that all Associates are in a safe working environment 100% of the time
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Performs and improve daily batching quality control checks
  • Follow and improve quality control SOPís
  • Provide quality representation on new product teams and drive the approval of product specifications, test methods and implementation at manufacturing sites
  • Conduct audits of suppliers and co-packers to ensure compliance with standards, ensure records and documentation are maintained, track quality of products produced, and resolve quality problems using the problem resolution system
  • Oversee all aspects of sanitation as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and ensure that tasks are effectively completed
  • Understands regulatory requirements and works to ensure compliance.
  • Works on special projects as per priorities of the organization.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education:

  • Bachelorís Degree

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in food manufacturing quality control
  • Knowledge of Modified Atmosphere Packaging
  • Must have knowledge of GMPís and HACCP
  • A proven track record in the commercialization of new products with preferred experience around the processing of fresh produce with refrigerated or ambient storage.

Skills:

  • Confirmed ability to work independently and meet defined deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to achieve defined goals on time.
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to demonstrate these skills.
  • Capable writer and oral communicator. Able to write reports and prepare/deliver presentations.
  • Well built skills in organization, prioritization and time management.
  • Creative, self-starter that enjoys building systems from the ground up.
  • Highly self-motivated individual comfortable working individually and able to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently within the context of a fast-paced, busy environment.
