Ingredient Tech

Food Science degree is REQUIRED with experience in food related product development (industry or from education). Will work with suppliers, vendors, procurement, and product development. Will validate flavor profiles with powders, ready to drink drinks, and confectioneries. Will work with formulations and work with QA to adjust flavors and colors to validate flavor profiles. Taste testing will be performed as well.

*This position reports to the Raw Material Specification & Ingredient Technology Manager

Ingredient Tech temp role:


• Coordinate projects identifying alternate sourcing of ingredients for quality improvement and cost reduction.


• Must have ability to work well in cross-functional teams.


• Consult with Product Developers to troubleshoot formulation issues.


• Experience working in manufacturing setting.


• Understanding of basic scientific procedure, upkeep of notebooks and other results documentation.


• No allergies to dairy, nut or soy is critical for this role.


Position requirements:


• Education or Experience in Food Science.


• Familiar with primary testing and techniques for characterizing functionality of ingredients.

 

Skills of the position:


• Must be able to analyze data for conclusions and should be detail-oriented


• Excellent communication and written English skills.

Abilities for the position:


• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage projects to deadlines.


• Comfortable communicating with all levels of management


• A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.


• Ability to clearly communicate with all types of employees
