Provide strategic leadership, direction, and guidance on Quality Assurance and Food safety programs and systems. Continuously improve quality processes by developing, implementing, and enforcing food safety and consistency policies company-wide while ensuring strict compliance with Regulatory Agencies.



  1. Responsible for providing regulatory, quality, and food safety guidance across the Company.
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert for all Food Safety and Quality Assurance related trends, regulations, and legislation, maintaining a high level of expertise on all food safety and quality related subjects.
  3. Comply fully with all regulatory requirements, positioning the company as an industry leader in Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
  4. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of Quality Assurance and Food Safety by setting goals and identifying key performance indicators in this area of the business.
  5. Work directly with Operations management and in conjunction with R&D, Purchasing, Logistics, and other departments to provide guidance and assure implementation and adherence to programs.
  6. Develop benchmarking and metrics for Company Food Safety and Quality Assurance performance through interaction with industry peers.
  7. Set challenging, reasonable performance expectations for microbiological performance, foreign material control, regulatory compliance, and HACCP programs.
  8. Create and enforce robust testing programs on food products to ensure compliance with regulations, and the advancement of product safety for our consumers.
  9. Maintain product consistency throughout product cycle to provide quality foods to consumers.
  10. Interact regularly with key customers to ensure quality systems are in place to fully meet their needs.
  11. Develop and maintain working relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies, working as a reputable senior liaison in regards to Food Safety and Quality matters.
  12. Coordinate mock recalls for all manufacturing locations, warehouse and distribution centers.
  13. Responsible for maintaining and upgrading HACCP procedures, and observing and enforcing overall food safety and GMPís.
  14. Manage the investigation and reporting of quality issues and implementation of internal audit control processes.
  15. Write and develop new procedures to ensure production of quality products and reduce costs.
  16. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, managing, developing, and mentoring Quality Assurance Managers and Food Safety personnel.



  • 15+ years of food manufacturing industry experience.
  • 5+ years of total experience must have been in an Executive/Director role.
  • Bachelorís Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field required.
  • Specific knowledge and direct experience in adherence with USDA, FDA manufacturing required.
  • Knowledge of current Food Safety and QA audit trends and programs.
  • Excellent PC skills a must.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with customers, consumers, all levels of the organization, and Regulatory officials.
  • Effective people management skills a must.
