Job Summary

Apple is looking for an ambitious person who will work closely with our Safety & Sanitation Department. This person will be responsible in assisting with the administration of the Food Safety program, including development and implementation of the prerequisite programs and sanitation techniques. Maintain compliance with OSHA, FDA, AIB, SQF, GMP, GFSI, and other relevant standards and make recommendations as needed. Maintain entire manufacturing facility and grounds to desired Food Safety standards. Collaborate with other departments within the organization and customers to resolve Food Safety issues.

Key Qualifications

§  1 to 2 or more years of safety and sanitation experience

§  Excellent leadership and communication skills

§  Capable of teaching, training, and sharing technical knowledge with associates

§  A high level of analytical ability in order to find solutions to departmental problems

§  Computer literate in spreadsheet and word applications, with advanced competency preferred

Description

Assist in training and coaching the safety and sanitation team Use Food Safety practices and procedures to ensure no products become contaminated Investigate customer and consumer concerns and complaints about food safety issues Assist in annual risk assessments and/ or when incidents occur. Revise policies and practices that may pose threats to food safety Conduct safety training, safety drills and maintain safety training records for the department\ Proactively enforce safety compliance throughout all Caffé Macs, and promote safe work habits Investigate accidents and determine root causes. Complete accident reports and communicate with management Ensure products meet company’s required quality of food safety standards Maintain department programs and procedures and document revisions Report any condition or action that may place product at risk of being contaminated with foreign material Responsible for maintaining food defense procedures and practices and revising as needed Assist in regulatory and third party inspections and audits including Department of Health, FDA, AIB, and kosher.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science related area preferred. Experience in the Food Industry preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
