This Food Technologist
position is located at our campus in Fremont, Michigan and has primary
accountability for growing the top and bottom-line of the nutrition
business by developing new product platforms and line extensions, making
improvements to existing products, supporting the factories through
ingredient and processing challenges, and maintaining product compliance.
Cost savings initiatives
Provide technical assistance to the factories, co-manufacturers,
purchasing and quality assurance departments
Maintain recipe and ingredient databases
This position will provide technical leadership within the
cross-functional team to execute projects from concept through
implementation. Determining & executing all elements of product
development, including technical strategic direction, timeline development,
risk management, and technology transfer. They will partner with the brand
groups, co-create project direction, and lead the overall technical execution.
•BS degree in Food Science or related discipline
•Ideal candidate will have 0-5 years food
•Food Science internship preferred
•Understanding of the Stage Gate project management process a plus
•Demonstrated tactical execution skills involving development of new
•Experience in shelf stable foods. Competence with development of
thermally-processed products a plus.
•Ability to troubleshoot technical problems associated with product
•Demonstrated mental agility to leverage knowledge across multiple product
•Partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders through the
planning and decision-making process.
•Provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams
•Work independently with minimal supervision in technical disciplines.
