Job Description

A Quality Assurance Technician ensures that quality control and product liability standards are constantly and consistently maintained.

Performs the day-to-day Quality Assurance functions of auditing process lines, conforming to product specifications that consist of:

Package Material Inspections

HACCP Verification

Foreign Material Investigation.

Data Collection.

Specification Resource.

Root Cause Investigation.

Pre-op inspections (contamination issues, maintenance work, scheduled sanitation, etc.)

Operational sanitation inspections (hand dip stations, general GMP verification, etc.)

Trend analysis.

Batch verification (raw materials correct for product, usage correct for formula.)

Conduct regular product cuttings.

Collect 100% accurate data and communicate trends deviating from product specification on a timely basis by using computer based data automation collection programs to record QA line audit data from each work day.

Audit product processing and evaluate finished product for all attributes as specified in the product specifications.

Conduct data evaluation and interpretation to identify quality of processing issues.

Present quality summaries and trends at team meetings.

Assist in special projects and plant R&D tests providing accurate data to special projects personnel.

Maintain effective communication with supervisor, co-workers, and other departments; develop rapport and adequately discuss problems/issues.

Present and maintain a professional image at all times; observe GMP and plant regulations.

Contribute to an orderly lab, sharing housekeeping duties with co-workers.

Perform all responsibilities within the policies, procedures, code of ethics of the Company.

Required Experience

A Quality Assurance Technician must have minimum high school diploma or equivalent and 2 year Associates Degree or related Certification preferred with Food Science or Microbiological background.

At least 6 months experience in a food processing plant.

HACCP training a plus.

Effective written and oral communication skills, good organization skills.

Strong mathematical, problem solving, and decision making skills.

Basic proficiency with computer software (Excel, Word, Access.)

Aware of Safety Rules and Regulations.

Basic business requirements, such as attendance, punctuality, good work habits, and good personal hygiene.

Be able to lift up to 55 lbs.

Daily activities include walking, standing, climbing, reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing.

Required to work in freezers and near noisy machinery as part of daily production activities.

Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity.

Keep high level of concentration, work under pressure and at a fast pace for extended periods of time.

Able to work in multi shift environment.
