Quality Assurance Technician - Savage, MN  


Davisco Unit of Agropur is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician in Savage, Minnesota.

 

 

Essential Functions include the following

 

• Uphold Davisco’s Food Safety, Quality and Employee Safety requirements at all times.

• Conduct routine Warehouse Quality Inspections related to food quality and safety: Finished product quality, regulatory compliance, pest control, routine sanitation, employee GMPs, training and food defense compliance.

• Work well with and without supervision.

• Provide GMP and Quality Program training to warehouse employees.

• Execute QA Hold/Release functions on incoming Raw Ingredients and Finished Products.

• Execute Cause and Corrective Action Program and Complaint Investigations for warehouse issues.

• Ensure electronic inventory system for warehousing is maintained with quality and customer updates

• Update SOPs, and warehouse documents as needed.  Implement updates within the facility.

• Ensure that work is completed timely, efficiently, and that it meets optimal quality standards

• Anticipate, trouble shoot, and resolve problems with product storage/distribution quickly

• Conduct work in a safe manner and abide by all company safety policies

• Collect samples for equipment, environmental and in-process monitoring

• Review facility documentation as it relates to food safety requirements

• Understand and obey all Good Warehousing Practices.

 

 

Technical Competencies:

 

•    Ability to read and understand SOP’s.

•    Computer literate.

•    Able to properly document information legibly.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

•    AA/AS/BA/BS recommended in ration to one of the following fields; Science, food science, and/or chemistry or equivalent work experience in a food manufacturing environment.

•    1 year quality assurance experience preferred  

 

 

Non-technical Competencies:

 

•    Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

•    Ability to communicate and document work.

•    Strong organizational skills.

•    Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.

•    Ability to plan ahead

•    Ability to pay strong attention to detail and multitask effectively

 

 Work Conditions

 

•    Track and maintain information on a database.

•    Be able to move up to 50 pounds.

•    Able to move above about work stations in a warehouse environment for a 8 hour shift.

•    Be able to work at floor level, waist level, and shoulder level repetitively.
