Position: Food Safety Supervisor

Status: Hourly; Full-time

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday; Day Shift

Reports to: Quality Control Manager

About the Position:

Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager. Trains, monitors and gives feedback to all employees on Food Safety and HACCP programs and procedures.

Responsibilities:

        Represents Lehi Valleys commitment to Food Safety and company values

        Performs/oversees daily, in-process inspections and maintains documentation

        Performs/oversees daily inspection and monitoring of all plant pest control practices and procedures

        Oversees Food Safety/HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) programs

        Participates in preparation for and performance of company-wide third-party audits

        Ensures effectiveness of sanitation through ATP and allergen testing

        Informs Quality Control Manager of any Food Safety and/or Quality Control issues

        Assists Quality Control Manager in managing plant Quality Control program

        Collaborates with Quality Control Manager in reviewing and making recommendations on current programs

        Interacts with all levels of company personnel

        Assists with special projects as assigned

        Assists in the case of a product recall

        Creates and drafts Food Safety policies

        Maintains HACCP/Quality Control Manuals, documentation and records

        Edits policies as required

        Performs/oversees Food Safety Training for new and current employees

        Inspects, monitors and gives feedback to team members on job performance

        Interviews, trains, motivates and mentors team members as needed

        Creates training programs with PowerPoint or other presentation software as needed

 

Qualifications/Skills:

        Bilingual preferred

        Knowledge of QA/QC processes and procedures including sanitation, GMPS

        Ability to maintain and continually improve documented, standardized and comprehensive programs within Lehi Valley Trading Company

        Familiarity with FDA and local health standards and regulations

        Microsoft Outlook, Word Excel, PowerPoint

        Work flexible hours

        Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

        Handle expanding responsibilities as needed

        Time management and organizational skills

        Strong analytical, written and communication skills

        Policy writing

        Clean driving record with valid AZ license

 

Other skills (can be learned through training):

        ATP/Allergen swabbing

        Monitoring of programs

 

Education:

        High school Diploma or G.E.D.

 

Compensation:
