Mission description

The Food Application Scientist will be responsible for achieving Roquette America’s commercial team mission by developing technical and innovative solutions to internal and external customers in human nutrition market.  A successful candidate will be required to have demonstrated expertise and core competency in baking applications.  Excellent communications skills, leadership, and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, both internal and external to Roquette America, are required. Regular direct customer interaction and overnight travel (up to 15%) can be expected throughout the NAFTA region.


Key Responsibilities
Works on developing solutions to support baking customer projects by conducting application study requests
Researches and formulates new application recipes and prototypes for new product launch and promotion
Identify and develop new business growth opportunities through innovation and collaboration
Meet individual financial, customer support and innovation goals
Provide training for Roquette University courses
Collaborate within Roquette global Application network and through external partnerships for optimizing resources.
Coordinate and collaborate with Sales and Marketing for prioritizing and executing defined key projects. Provide technical training to the Sales and Marketing teams, distributors, and customers.


MS in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related field; PhD preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in food application
Minimum 3 years technical experience in baking
Working experience in starch, starch derivatives and vegetable proteins
Demonstrates understanding and ability for customer focus and innovation
Demonstrates strong internal and external, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to understand a wide variety of product and process technologies
Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal and team work skills at all levels and with customer organizations
