Under the direction and supervision of a RD&QI
Consumer Scientist, the technologist (SG3/4) is responsible for the day-
to-day management of sensory kitchen and panel activities. He/she will
also assist in sensory panel set–up, execution, and data management.
Executes internal sensory panel studies under
guidance from the panel leaders and according to protocols; including but
not limited to: project calendaring and sample check in, rotation,
preparation, cooking, and serving.
Responsible for study preparation (labeling of
plates/cups, organizing trays) and study clean-up.
Manages inventory and ordering of kitchen and
office supplies, small equipment and groceries.
Handling of test-software Compusense:
create, start, run and stop tests, handle error-functions, and set-up of
Maintains clean and sanitary kitchens and sensory
Responsible for creating and management of paper
and electronic product folders.
Training of contractors as needed
Occasional evening hours as required
High school diploma
required Associates Degree in science preferred
Two-three years laboratory/kitchen experience
required, food related experience a plus
Working knowledge with Windows based software,
(i.e. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office)
Experience with Compusense
Expert in using standard kitchen appliances
Knowledge of kitchen GMPs
Intermediate cooking/culinary skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills,
Ability to balance multiple priorities and multi
Experience with processing data (compiling, coding,
categorizing) a plus
