Under the direction and supervision of a RD&QI Consumer Scientist, the technologist (SG3/4) is responsible for the day- to-day management of sensory kitchen and panel activities. He/she will also assist in sensory panel set–up, execution, and data management.

·         Executes internal sensory panel studies under guidance from the panel leaders and according to protocols; including but not limited to: project calendaring and sample check in, rotation, preparation, cooking, and serving.

·         Responsible for study preparation (labeling of plates/cups, organizing trays) and study clean-up.

·         Manages inventory and ordering of kitchen and office supplies, small equipment and groceries.

·         Handling of test-software Compusense: create, start, run and stop tests, handle error-functions, and set-up of routine tests.

·         Maintains clean and sanitary kitchens and sensory booths.

·         Responsible for creating and management of paper and electronic product folders.

·         Training of contractors as needed

·         Occasional evening hours as required

Qualifications

·         High school diploma required Associates Degree in science preferred

·         Two-three years laboratory/kitchen experience required, food related experience a plus

·         Working knowledge with Windows based software, (i.e. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office)

·         Experience with Compusense software preferred

·         Expert in using standard kitchen appliances

·         Knowledge of kitchen GMPs

·         Intermediate cooking/culinary skills

·         Strong verbal and written communication

·         Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills,

·         Ability to balance multiple priorities and multi task

·         Experience with processing data (compiling, coding, categorizing) a plus
