This position utilizes
existing and or emerging technologies to design and build new products
and processes that drive business growth that meet the goals and
strategies of Krispy Kreme. The Food Scientist is responsible for global
R&D development projects, taking them from concept through commercial
launch, leading Krispy Kremeís product innovations in collaboration with
Marketing, Procurement and R&D team members.
Drive ingredient and
technology innovation, acting as internal champion for new game-changing
products, moving projects through the development pipeline.
Lead ingredient technology development and application work in the area
of flour as part of global doughnut category.
Developing new methods and new approaches to resolve complex
Hands-on development of new prototypes against required consumer, safety,
regulatory, commercialization and cost parameters.
Scale and commercialize prototypes.

Work with training and operations on recipe cards, preparation
instruction and additional executional materials.
reports for the development of new products beginning at conception
through successful commercialization. Selects appropriate methods, tests
and procedures for testing. Develops project timelines, creates technical

project updates to leadership.
Manage research projects for quality improvements, cost optimization,
process improvement and innovative ingredient and process technologies.

Efficiently manage multiple development timelines, integrating key

BS or MS Degree
in Food Science or Food Chemistry
Minimum of 5 years experience in Product
Development with at least 3 years in a food scientist role.
Technical experience with dry mixes, confectionery coatings and fats and
oils is required
Prior experience within the area of cereal/grain science and/or flour is
Prior experience in cereal, baking or snack food manufacturing is
Global product development experience preferred
Experience in Shelf Life extension a plus
Fluent in experimental design
Strong working knowledge of consumer and sensory testing protocols and
business understanding of statistical design and interpretation
Strong knowledge of food and beverage labeling protocol, nutritional
claims and food and beverage regulatory affairs
Passion for food, beverage and culinary world
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
