Job Description:

At Kerry, we hire recent graduates into real roles with real responsibilities from day one. As part of the Sensory team, this role will work under the guidance a Sensory Professional to execute sensory and consumer tests which meet established business or project goals.

Key duties will include:
• Seting up, accurately conducting and cleaning up after all types of sensory tests + training sessions
• Participating in descriptive + bench-top reviews as a panelist.
• Occasionally leading panel
• Independently conducting QC tests: weigh and prepare QC samples; conduct the test and summarize results
• Panelist recruiting
• Preparing products and supplies for testing
• Accurately setting up and conducting taste panels
• Logging in and storing product samples, ingredients, and lab supplies
• Accurately weighing ingredients
• Maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe and well-organized working environment
• Maintaining adequate supplies
• Preparing and shipping ingredients & supplies.
• Studying methods to improve quality of foods such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods.
• Developing food standards, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications.
• Testing new products in test kitchen and develops specific processing methods in laboratory pilot plant.
• Conferring with food scientists, process engineers, flavor experts, and packaging and marketing specialists to resolve problems.

Must possess or be working towards a PhD in Food Science or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of academic excellence and those with a proven history of applying academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on way in lab, plant or pilot plant environment.

Other qualifications of the ideal candidate:
• Skilled at data entry and comments
• Skilled in comment and table formatting for all difference and simple consumer tests
• Skilled in Compusense programming and basic statistical analysis

Candidate must possess ability to:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with diverse groups of customers and employees.
- Demonstrate professional curiosity and an inquisitive nature by asking questions, investigating cause and effect, solving problems, identifying business improvements and approaching challenges logically and thoughtfully.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, working with concrete and abstract variables.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw solid conclusions.
- Taste and smell food grade chemicals, flavors and food products.
