Jack in the Box is looking for an Environmental Health Specialist with 3 years restaurant inspection experience to joing our Food Safety Team in San Diego, CA!

Responsible for monitoring health department reports for Jack in the Box and Qdoba restaurants. Identify key food safety risks and trends
in order to improve food safety behaviors in restaurants. Routinely communicates with health departments to clarify report results, clarify
procedures, provide guidance, and capture regulation changes. Provide guidance for imminent health hazard situations, reports of
employee illness, and pest control inquiries. Inspects restaurants as needed in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Coordinates with
Food Safety Systems team in order to identify opportunities for improvement and insure protection of the Jack in the Box, Inc brand.



          Primary liaison to health departments and regulatory community for reviewing health department inspection reports and

         coordinating follow-up activities between the regulators and company employees. Acts as a resource to corporate and field

         personnel on regulatory issues.

         Manages health department inspection reports; reviews reports for accuracy and appropriate corrective action recommendations;

         provides data and access to historical health inspection reports. Escalates reports to Food Safety Systems Director if applicable.

          Utilizes databases to track, trend,and identify opportunities to improve food safety behaviors in restaurants. Conducts

         independent analysis and makes recommendations to restaurant food handling policies for food safety and guest protection.

         Consults with cross-functional departments to provide regulatory expertise.

          Maintains up-to date knowledge of retail food laws in all jurisdictions in which Jack in the Box and Qdoba operate. Follows and

         communicates Food Code changes and regulatory updates in jurisdictions in which our restaurants operate.

          May conduct announced and unannounced advisory restaurant inspections to oversee problem solving with health departments

         and corporate / franchise management.

         As required / requested, provides guidance regarding pest control, contaminated water, employee illness, or imminent health

         hazard resolution as identified on health inspection reports.

         Consults and works closely with Food Safety team, Hotline, and Risk Management groups in order to protect the brand. May be

         asked to participate as a consultant to the Crisis Management team.

         Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Bachelorís Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, and Epidemiology highly preferred
