The position is within the Meals Category Core Product Development group. This position will provide a great opportunity to develop deep technical skills in the Liquid Cheese sauce area of Mac & Cheese. This candidate will work to develop the vision for the Process/Supply Chain of the future for Liquid cheese sauce by exploring new technologies. The candidate will work closely with the Cheese BU to align strategies and technologies for reformulation and processing.

Responsibilities:

         Develop and Lead experimental plans for development of formula and process design.

         Conduct pilot plant and plant trials

         Develop process design scope/capital recommendations

         Lead qualification plans and implementation

         Interface with multiple cross-functional/BU groups (i.e. Plants, Engineering, Research, Consumer Sciences, Microbiology, as well as outside vendors) to execute programs.

         Develops a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes and ingredient functionality.

         Travel 20-40%

Qualifications

         The qualified candidate would hold a BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related engineering field and ideally 3+ years of product development or processing experience.

         Experience in cheese is highly desired.

         Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence cross BU programs is critical.

         Good understanding and technical curiosity for product / process development and interactions.

         Strong project execution and drive for results skills are critical.

         Skilled in developing experimental plans and interpreting results. Ability to create a strategic plan and pathways to deliver.

         Lean Six Sigma green or black belt is desirable but will train.
