Work with the teams that develop and execute audit plans that lead to the identification of grocery, food safety and quality assurance risks and areas of control improvements. Develop and communicate ideas for strategic, financial, operational and compliance control improvements to managers and clients.Provide risk insights as part of the continuous risk assessment process. Follow up with clients to make sure remediation plans have been completed and meet business needs. ·         Lead large cross functional audits of food processes by analyzing data, assessing risk, and evaluating effectiveness of process controls

·         Consult with business owners to identify, analyze and communicate process opportunities

·         Leverage food industry knowledge to provide relevant, actionable remediation recommendations to management, in both verbal and written form

·         Influence process improvement, working with key business owners to proactively implement changes

·         Remain current with industry trends and emerging risks; communicate risk/impact to management

·         Participate in continuous risk assessment process by consulting with internal and external business partners to identify and assess risks and controls within business area

·         Develop strong business relationships with business owners

·         Lead special projects as assigned by manager

·         Identify and develop new metrics, exception reporting, and ways of analyzing data

Requirements

·         B.S. in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Environmental Health or related Sciences

·         4+ years food safety, quality assurance, food auditing, regulatory compliance or other relevant food experience, preferably corporate level program management, food auditing or federal regulatory experience

·         Strong knowledge and proficiency of food safety and quality assurance principles, programs and practices

·         Knowledge of FDA, USDA, state and local regulatory requirements pertaining to food safety, COOL, sanitation, and pest control

·         Working knowledge of grocery operations, food manufacturing and/or distribution operations

·         Strong written and oral communications skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills

·         Strong analytical / problem solving / decision making skill

·         Ability to work independently with high level of initiative
