Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is a key member of the management team with primary responsibility for protecting the food through establishing and implementing food safety and quality strategy and meeting all customer and compliance requirements.

The QA Manager is a leader responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring food safety and quality assurance programs and ensuring operations is in compliance with best practices for food safety and quality. The QA Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The QA Manager provides leadership directly to their team (exempt and/or non-exempt) and indirectly to other plant personnel.


  • Manages Quality Technicians to assure safe, high quality, and efficient activity
  • Manages training program for quality, sanitation and operational quality
  • Develop and implement food safety systems to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Oversee all phases of HACCP Food Safety Plans and the plans control product safety
  • Manage 3rd party audit process including SQF, USDA, FDA, Organic, Kosher, and select independent auditors
  • Works closely with Purchasing and R&D to determine best practices & corrective actions
  • Approve new ingredients and new vendor approval process; audit material suppliers
  • Develops, monitors, and improves measurement factors for controlling and reducing conditions and behaviors that lead to non-conforming products and quality concerns


  • BS Degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HACCP Certification from a recognized HACCP Training Course and the experience and competence to implement and maintain HACCP based Food Safety Plans.
  • SQF Certification for Implementing SQF 7.2 Systems required, and the understanding of the relevant SQF code and requirements to implement and maintain SQF systems relevant to the scope of the company’s certification.
  • Ability to multi-task in a continually changing fast-paced environment in a positive, can do manner.
  • Ability to use a calculator and be proficient in basic math functions such as addition, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
  • Proficient in basic use of computer including Word, Excel, and other applications.
  • Attention to detail, follow procedures, and problem solve.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 /year
