We are seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Manager position at our state-of-the-art facility in Naples, FL. The ideal candidate will meet the required qualifications and possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to excel in this position.


The basic function of the QA Manager is that of a working manager and coordinator to provide the necessary leadership, planning, direction, organization, and control to meet the goals of the company. The primary assignment performs a specific quality related function within the organizations quality program.

This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products. The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for FiveStar Gourmet Foods.

A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.

QA Supervisor


  • Direct, manage and support company-wide initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and support Safe Quality Foods Initiative at the plant level
  • Ensure standards of Food Safety and Food Quality, to meet or exceed customer's specifications
  • Administration of the QA Laboratory
  • Develop systems to track and trend adherence to company and customer specifications
  • Initiate corrective actions where needed on food safety and food quality
  • Develop and maintain processes to track and trend customer satisfaction with product quality
  • Develop systems to track and trend customer complaints
  • Work directly with customer to resolve quality and food safety issues
  • Develop content for food safety and food quality training
  • Develop systems to ensure the company passes food safety and food quality audits with customers, regulatory bodies and 3rd party firms
  • Actively participate as a Key member of the recall team
  • Technical assistance expert for developing product specifications
  • Interface with customers regarding all product deficiencies and manage staff to conduct root cause investigation
  • Review audit results; identify and mitigate identified risks then implement corrective actions
  • Responsible for Quality Systems Integration within the plant operation
  • Direct product hold, release and recall programs
  • In plant expert for crisis management
  • Performs and monitors GMP plant inspections
  • Supervise Quality Support department.
  • Leads and manages food safety, QA/QC, and sanitation programs, including: HACCP, Vendor Certifications, Product Specifications, Hold and Release, Certificates of Analysis, Lot Tracking, Plant Walkthroughs, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Directs quality, safety and GMP training programs for all departments.
  • Manages QA/QC and sanitation operations/labor to meet operating budgets.
  • Communicates daily with Operations Manager and Sanitation Manager regarding production planning and issues.
  • Directs microbiological laboratory operations and reporting.
  • Performs annual appraisals of QA Supervisors and Techs.
  • Assumes responsibility for being the main contact for annual audits from 3rd party companies and customers.
  • Meets with vendors as appropriate.
  • Ensures that all products are produced consistent with FiveStar Gourmet Foods high quality standards, and that employees strictly adhere to FiveStar Gourmet Foods procedures.
  • Ensures that facilities are maintained and all duties are performed in compliance with all applicable food safety standards and good manufacturing practices.
  • Helps develop solutions for improving product quality and production. Resolves customer product quality issues with the involvement of R&D department.
  • Develops and implements new procedures and policies as needed.
  • Manages customer complaints and composes appropriate responses.
  • Works as a team player; assumes a pleasant and helpful attitude toward fellow co-workers of all levels to ensure a great work environment. Exemplifies the company's core values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by executive management.
  • Manages plant personnel QA Supervisors, and QA Techs from a GMP and safety standpoint.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Five Star Gourmet Foods policies and applicable laws.
  • Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).


  • BS degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a similar science-based degree
  • Advance degrees preferred
  • MS office products proficiency
  • 10+ years progressive responsibilities in quality, food production, sanitation, or food safety
  • Quality certification preferred (CFS, CQM, CQE, CQA)
  • SQF or BRC Certification
  • GMP experience
  • HACCP training
  • Food Safety training
  • Project Management - develop and monitor quality programs, as well as leading and organizing people
  • Bi-Lingual is preferable (Spanish-English)
