We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Quality Assurance Supervisor in our Lancaster, TX meat commissary.  This position is responsible for all Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality programs and associates for the establishment.  The establishments production shall consist of not ground and ground beef further processing.

General Responsibilities

  • Providing strong leadership and communications through the coaching, training, scheduling and development of Quality Assurance associates
  • Implementation, monitoring and documentation of all company food safety, quality and sanitation standards, programs and procedures, e.g. HACCP, SSOP, SOP, GMP, SPS, Food Defense, Supplier, PIP, product specifications, pest control and pre-requisites
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable USDA-FSIS regulations as well as serving as a liaison to field operations officials
  • Working closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation and Laboratory management to ensure that food safety, quality, sanitation and microbiological outcomes are achieved
  • Assembling and critically assessing establishment data in an effort to foster peer awareness and a proactive establishment Food Safety and product Quality culture
  • Understanding and minimizing process control deviations and product exposure through root cause and trend analysis, continuous improvement strategies and/or internal/external feedback
  • Managing special projects that impact product quality, food safety and/or sanitation
  • Conducting product and environmental sampling protocols for meat and thousand island style dressing
  • Serving as the liaison for all Quality Assurance associate safety programs
  • In the absence of key personnel, the Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible to complete or delegate to a trained associate the completion of all required tasks and responsibilities
  • Perform all managerial duties with pride and craftsmanship while fostering a culture of teamwork, cooperation, safety, product quality and wholesomeness

Work Schedule + Benefits

  • Full-time position, Hourly (non-exempt)
  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; some overtime as needed
  • 5 days per week
  • May require weekend and night scheduling dependent on department needs
  • Overnight business travel will be required as necessary

Minimum Requirements



  • A bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science, Food Safety or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance supervisory experience in a USDA-FSIS regulated establishment
  • HACCP and Preventative Controls for Human Food certification
  • Strong leadership, decision making, communication, written and critical thinking skills
  • USDA-FSIS Food Safety Assessment experience
  • Expertise and implementation of a GFSI scheme, e.g. BRC, through a cross functional team approach
  • Working knowledge of microbiological and environmental testing procedures
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SPC software
