Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician

Position Summary:

We are a Central Wisconsin based company with a new recently opened location in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. We are seeking a highly motivated technical expert to work with the Quality Assurance team as we continue the start up at our fourth location.

This position is an hourly non-exempt position in the Quality Assurance Department working in the laboratory and on the production floor. The candidate performs daily testing and auditing activities, completes daily paperwork, and communicates between Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Management. The candidate identifies and assists in the elimination of product concerns, and supports programs including HACCP, GMP and SQF.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor compliance with in-plant programs by the verification and/or pre-shipment of HACCP paperwork, acceptance/rejection of raw materials, work in-process and audits finished product and other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Communicate issues and activities to management and team members.
  • Provide information and discuss resolutions to quality concerns.
  • Complete understanding of processing specifications.
  • Collect laboratory samples.
  • Work (upon training) in all areas of the plant as assigned.
  • Hold products that do not meet plant safety standards by verifying process control practices and compliance, and other verifications.
  • Responsibility (authority) for quality and food safety.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensures employees adhere to company policies and work rules regarding HACCP, GMP, and SOP.


  • Associates degree or knowledge equivalent to such degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret chart, graphs and logs on a technical level.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Good analytical and logical problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of FDA and HACCP regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work as a team player.
