WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
In your role as a Product and Consumer Scientist, you
will be part of our success by:
• Partnering with cross functional product
development teams, including product development, marketing, marketing
research, quality assurance, manufacturing and other scientists to focus
on the project objective, develop research plans to meet the objective,
and conduct research to meet project goals.
• Designing, executing, interpreting data, and
reporting results of all test types including descriptive analysis,
discrimination testing and consumer research.
• Customizing research plans based on objectives.
• Leveraging the power of statistics through test
design and data interpretation and building a strong relationship with
internal statistics department.
• Partners with senior sensory staff and guides
development and implementation of new testing methodologies and
opportunities for research on research.
• Providing technical recommendations based on
knowledge of food chemistry, packaging, and product development as it
applies to sensory and consumer research.
• Keeping current with advancements in sensory and
consumer research, ingredient technology and food science by taking
advantage of technical journals, attending technical presentations by
suppliers, and networking with colleagues and experts in the field.
• Increasing the technical depth of the organization
through participation in technical forums.
• Maintaining knowledge of market research
methodologies in order to provide insights to the product development
WHAT DO I NEED TO
As well as a hunger to learn and success in Research,
Quality and Technology, to be considered for this position you must be
able to meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science or
related field and significant experience in a related role.
• Proven track record of leadership, communication
skills and business acumen
• Deep knowledge of sensory and consumer research,
food science, and consumer insights.
• Master’s or PhD degree in Food Science or related
field with extensive experience in a related role
• Previous sensory and consumer research experience
either in food or non-food applications.

This role requires up to approximately 20-30% travel
to suppliers and consumer testing facilities for research.
