Nutritional Compliance Manager – OSI Group
This position serves as the
regulatory and nutrition subject matter expert and is responsible for
ensuring that product labels are in compliance with company policy and local,
state and federal regulations. The individual in this role will develop,
validate, and maintain food product label statements to ensure that such
statements correctly represent the product and are in full compliance with
applicable regulations to minimize risk of potential product related
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the subject matter
expert in all aspects of product labeling including, but not limited to,
regulatory directives on nutrition and ingredients, by providing
guidance to project and function teams to enable effective
- Maintain the latest knowledge
of labeling regulations and proposals established by local, state and
federal agencies including the USDA and FDA; communicate impact of
regulations to management and coordinate resulting compliance
- Identify opportunities for
using specific ingredients and their impact on labeling and advertising;
communicate options and implications to product development staff.
- Respond to external inquiries
about nutrition and ingredients related to labeling or packaging; inquiries
may come from customers, vendors, governmental agencies, or other
- Develop, coordinate, and
administer internal processes that control the labeling and packing
design to ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations.
- Review and approve product
artwork, graphics, and text to ensure meeting FDA and USDA regulatory
requirements and technical accuracy.
- Compile, validate, and maintain
the company's ingredient nutrition information database.
- Manage all phases of the label
change process including, but not limited to, USDA approval, document
preparation, product specifications, approval notification, record
retention, and correspondence.

government related activities and trade events as directed by
- Perform other duties as
- Bachelor's degree in Food
Science, Nutrition or related field of study.
- Minimum 5 years of experience
in regulatory and nutrition with a USDA or FDA food manufacturer.
- Knowledge of and experience
using FDA and USDA food regulations, specifications, and labeling
- Strong problem solving,
organization, and time management skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to
communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Ability to handle complexity,
multiple projects and work under tight timelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively
with others to bring projects to completion.
