Description

 

The FSQA Technologist is responsible for supporting food safety and quality assurance programs for restaurants and supply chain partners. The FSQA Technologist supports the supply chain audit program and assists with corrective actions follow up to ensure ingredients meet company standards and specifications.  In addition, this position collects and addresses guest and operator complaints related to food safety and quality.  This position also supports projects designed to improve product performance, reduce costs, and simplify processes at the restaurant level.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists with supply chain audit scheduling and execution, and conducts corrective actions follow up on performance deficiencies to ensure vendors meet or exceed Panda standards for food safety and quality.
  • Facilitates the new vendor on-boarding process to meet Pandaís business and growth needs.
  • Supports the Centralized Vendor Management System to maintain internal and external alignment on Panda FSQA standards and processes, and facilitates fast and accurate responses to product recalls and withdrawals.
  • Manages vendor performance data and generates Scorecards to drive continuous improvements and inform purchasing decisions.
  • Support the development and finalization of product specifications to support ingredient consistency.
  • Attends restaurant visits to ensure ingredients meet FSQA standards and specifications. Follows up on restaurant corrective actions and operator requests as needed.    
  • Supports testing of new in-store equipment, ingredients and processes to confirm they meet or exceed Panda standards and specifications. Assists with projects designed to improve product performance, reduce costs, and simplify processes at the restaurant level.
  • Supports the Product Monitoring Program to identify and correct food quality and safety issues before ingredients are shipped to restaurants. Assists in the evaluation of ingredients and prepares monthly Product Evaluation Reports that include ingredient performance feedback and corrective actions. 
  • Collects and addresses operator and guest complaints related to food quality and safety.  Partners with suppliers and restaurant operators to ensure issues are immediately addressed.  

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelorís degree required, preferably in Food Science, Public Health, Biology, Chemistry or related field
  • Minimum three years of experience in food safety auditing and training in a restaurant or food processing environment
  • Successful completion of annual store training
