The primary responsibilities of this position is the management of the facility's Food Safety and Quality programs.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage the facility's Food Safety and Quality Programs, including HAACP, Sanitation, Allergen, Recall, Pest Control (in conjunction with Sanitation Manager), GMP, Chemical Control, Security, Customer Complaints, Sanitary Design, Continuous Improvement, Vendor Assurance, New Product Implementation and Quality Support programs
  • Implement and formally audit Northern Gold Quality Manual, including document and data control, quality policies, formulation and process control.
  • Responsible for all facility audits and inspections {customer, Kosher, organic, GMP, BRC, 3rd Party, etc)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of FSMA
  • Investigate and respond to all customer complaints. Develop program in accordance with quality program standards and provide quarterly reports.
  • Implement quality section of the Northern Gold employee training program.
  • Implement and manage organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher program.
  • Directly participate in QC staff with any quality issues, approves dispositions; provide insight and training on products and raw materials.
  • Lead the development and approval of all nutrition labeling changes and packaging revisions. Ensure packaging conforms to all HC and FDA regulations.

Essential Qualifications

  • A University degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Quality role in a manufacturing facility
  • Working knowledge of HACCP and GMP's
  • Strong leadership skills to drive a culture of excellence
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed

Physical Demands

  • Activities include walking, kneeling, lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, stacking, twisting, pulling, pushing, inserting, sitting, squatting, standing, accumulating and collating motions.
  • Be able to handle 50# of material with assistance occasionally.
