AmeriQual Foods, an Evansville, IN based
food manufacturing facility, is seeking a Food Scientist. This position is responsible
for performing various tasks related to product development of new items,
renovation of existing items, and production support to ensure product is
made to customer specification.
Duties and responsibilities
- Commercial Product
Development - lab development, pilot plant work, production trials,
and providing support for initial production start-up. Report
results to appropriate departments during the product development
- Assist in redesign and
renovation of existing products to increase quality, reduce costs
and/or increase production efficiencies based on customer requests
- Support the Process
Improvement group regarding commercial formulation files by auditing
production, reviewing batch procedures, and update as necessary
- Support production with
troubleshooting out of spec product or production concerns on
- Work with the SPC program
manager and Quality Systems to set up new process control
requirements for trials and star t-up products and provide data or
data analysis upon internal and customer request
- Bachelorís degree in Food
Science, Biology, Chemistry or other related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of
experience in food product development & previous experience in
food manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Excellent communications
and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and
time management skills with ability to prioritize and anticipate changing
- Strong computer skills,
including MSOffice Excel, Word.
- This is mainly a 1st shift
position, but a flexible schedule is required to accommodate
production start up and/or adjustments
required on second shift. Limited weekend work may also be required.
- Ability to work
independently while maintaining close communication and
collaborative work relationships with all levels of the organization
and with external customers.
- Must be willing to taste
food products, including animal products
