Overview: This individual needs to be an independent self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills with in a group. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must. They need excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suite, understanding of nutritional data software and quality control software. This individual needs a strong understanding of baking and ingredient technology.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates product development projects
  • Responsible for design, development and execution/commercialization of new products in assigned categories
  • Monitoring, tracking and organizing of all approved proposed new product samples
  • Responsible for testing of all new ingredients, film, processes and any other changes that may impact product quality
  • Accurately complete item set up requirements and all related documents; communicate to procurement, quality and production department
  • Evaluates and resolves technical feasibility, product design/cost optimization, and production issues
  • Ensures that labeling and marketing/promotional literature match product specifications
  • Researches and monitors existing client base and industry developments and identifies potential new product opportunities.
  • Works with other departments to establish a design, technology, equipment and product development strategy
  • Manages project budgets and prepares financial analysis reports for top management.
  • Work with supply chain in the evaluation of new/replacement ingredients
  • Work to ensure product specifications are accurate and up-to-date then communicate to procurement, quality, production and sales department changes

Requirements: 5+ years experience in Product Development. Prefer: Degree in Food Science or similar discipline and 7+ experience.

Full-time position that should have most the hours spent at the office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend availability may be necessary and expected based on demand.

Occasional overnight travel is expected from time to time. Driverís license is required and passport would be good. Expected travel 10-15%.
