The Role

Lamb Weston is North America’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products and has numerous international operations in exciting locations. This position is intended for a keen eye with food safety and sanitation. The Food Safety Team Lead position it a developmental position for quality, sanitation, and food safety, learning about regulatory affairs, HACCP, Environmental Monitoring programs and Auditing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Help lead, teach and foster our World Class Food Safety Culture, which helps develop and engage the workforce in food safe practices.
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation standards by directing an effective sanitation program.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by instructing staff and reviewing consistency between shifts and leaders.
  • Help team members develop personally and maximize self-work to identify, manage, and execute the plant’s process improvement opportunities.
  • Empower the talent of production staff to attain production and quality goals.
  • Identify problems or bottlenecks in sanitation processes and resolve the issues.
  • Provide resources to position the team for success, including materials, equipment and human resources as needed to maintain sanitation schedules.
  • Facilitate collaboratively on continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Contribute to the organization’s team effort by accomplishing all responsibilities with favorable effect on the performance of others in the organization.
  • Function as a good corporate citizen, a partner in improving our sustainable responsibilities, and a supporter of the local community.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed to support Lamb Weston business objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum B.S. in Food Science or related field or equivalent years of experience and training
  • Minimum 2 years of food industrial experience in Quality Assurance
  • Good knowledge of FDA, UDSA and HACCP
  • Good knowledge of sanitation and pest control in food processing
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Good understanding of food safety
  • Ability to work shifts and weekends as needed
