QA Manager in Snack

cereals that we are proud to bring to markets around the world.
Currently we have an
opening for a QA & Food Safety Manager in our new Des Moines,
Washington facility who can continue to develop and implement our food
safety and quality programs. They will also work with R&D to continue
development of new products and other continuous improvement programs.
Our hours of operation
are 7 days a week and 24 hours a day and though the QA Manager will
normally work Mon-Fri the QA Manager is expected to occasionally work on a
variety of shifts and schedules. We have a diverse and multi-lingual workforce so the QA Manager must work and communicate
well with others.
The QA Manager qualifies
for continued education and training through established company training
programs and other approved job training programs run by third parties. QA
Managers also qualify for Health, Vision and Dental Insurance, PTO, Bonus
programs and an Employer Matched Retirement Simple IRA. This is a salaried,
overtime exempt position with highly competitive pay depending on
experience and training.
The Quality Assurance
Manager is responsible for quality assurance throughout the organization.
They work directly in all aspects of the business from purchasing,
suppliers, the production team and through the sales team and customers.
They are responsible for communication of food safety and quality standards
to suppliers, and plant personnel through training, corrective actions,
audits, and continual monitoring. They provide timely analysis of customer
service, internal and vendor cases to create long term solutions in our
effort towards a zero incidence rate.
The QA Manager must have
a Bachelorís Degree in Food Science or equivalent
and at least 3 years of experience as either a QA Manager or equivalent
position in food manufacturing. A bakery or snack food environment would be
preferred but is not required. The position requires a deep familiarity
with GFSI programs such as BRC or SQF and related programs surrounding food
safety such as HACCP and FSMA HARPC planning, allergen controls and organic
