Position Summary:

This position serves the development of Isagenix products and ensures successful development, commercialization, and launch of products that meet project success and business goals. Working independently and/or with small dynamic groups the position is intended to provide on going support, innovation and stewardship to the design, development and commercialization of food and dietary supplement products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Understand product development process, create project plan and design experimental trials.
  • Understand active ingredient and excipient functionality, source ingredients according to project needs.
  • Create and develop product prototypes in lab independently; conduct organoleptic evaluation, physical and chemical tests on prototypes, samples and products; perform data analysis to determine next steps.
  • Identify and qualify ingredient and ingredient vendors, prepare preliminary costing, prepare and review nutritional/ supplement facts panels and labels, as needed.
  • Understand and design product commercialization and manufacturing process, trouble shoot manufacturing issues and provide recommendation to improve performance and quality.
  • Understand product scale-up and technical transfer techniques, compile pilot trial plan, set proper parameters for in-process critical control points, supervise pilot trials to ensure products to be successfully produced with high efficiency and quality.
  • Design and execute accelerated and long-term stability study on prototypes, pilot samples and production samples.
  • Establish specifications related to ingredients, products, packaging, and analytical testing.
  • Interpret results and prepare related reports for internal and external customers as appropriate in a timely manner.
  • Coach and train junior staff on lab protocols, instruments and product development and commercialization techniques.
  • Establish and assess project milestones and timelines and complete projects accordingly to meeting business goals.

Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position):

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
  • 5 years of product design/development or work related experience.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Occasionally work outside the normal work hours.
  • Some travel will be required to manufacturing facilities, conferences and trade shows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry.
  • 3 years of Experience in a combination of dietary supplement industries.
  • Work experience in a cGMP manufacturing facilities.
